How soon will technology be able to provide a real as seen in the movies AI Android? Many believe the answer is very soon, within the coming decade. In a still male dominated world, the initial offerings may be something like this:
Artificial Intelligence: The Perfect Woman
It all started out with Androids looking like this:
Which didn’t get too many people that excited….seems the following are more to closer to the ideal desired android:
Now some may ask what the difference is between these Japanese female robots and ur sex dolls variety, and for now they are quite different. These Japanese creations strive for some form of artificial intelligence and motorized movement while the other feel good made of latex and silicon dolls are just good looking dummies whose usage really should be looked down on as quite deviant and abnormal, even though they are probably a ‘normal’ avenue for certain unlucky people in society who for reasons completely out of their control could never make such intimate connections with another ‘real’ person. Anyway, without a doubt, the most difficult part in creating an AI Android, is the “AI” part. We still do not have much understanding of how our own brains work and so we are no where near to be able to replicate it digitally, but what we can achieve is creating somewhat intelligent command driven robots with ‘machine vision’ that can navigate on their own.
One worthy area of research would be in replicating the human skeleton, muscles and tendons with artificial muscles, and combining such artificial muscle controls with motorized controls to offer more fine tuned movements and balance. Although we now have working examples of walking robots, thanks again to the Japanese, they are quite slow and clumsy and do not exhibit the smooth flow of motion seen in human gait.
