by Admin on Jan.16, 2010, under Virtual 3D World

One of the fastest (if not ‘the’ fastest) 3D renderers in the world, V-Ray for free open source Blender 3D brings the power and speed of V-Ray Raytracing to one of the most powerful modeling and 3d animation systems available.
V-Ray for Blender is currently in
development

What happens when you combine the world’s most powerful rendering engine
with the world’s most beloved open source 3D content creation suite? You get V-Ray
for Blender! Artists around the world are salivating at the mere thought
of taking their Blender scenes to the next level with the worlds fastest
photo-realistic rendering system.

Qwest for the most realistic renderer, photorealistic 3D renders

by Admin on Jan.16, 2010, under Virtual 3D World

I will be adding various worthy 3d images, artistic yet photo realistic (ie lighting textures etc)….. for now here’s some nice stuff from good ‘ol PovRay (I’ll be adding some from finalrender, fryrenderer, and others not sure if to same page yet..) :

The images presented on this page show a selection of the types of art that can be
created using POV-Ray.

Pebbles
by Jonathan Hunt

This POV-Ray picture of a beach of pebbles was generated entirely using POV code. No modelers were used at all. The image features radiosity and focal blur to give it that realistic feel, and took 4.5 days to render on an Athlon 5600+.

Boreal
by Norbert Kern

Study in atmospheric media and in different ways of “planting” using the trace command.

Indigo photorealistic 3d physics renderer for Blender

by Admin on Jan.15, 2010, under Virtual 3D World

Indigo photorealistic 3d scene renderingAnother great 3D render system similar to V-Ray is Indigo, which is ahead of Vray in its support for Blender.

Word.

A recent shot I did. Finally got my ass into gear to start making proper accessories and things such as books, glasses, etc.

There are 3 exposures in this image from the same rendering; woohoo for camera tonemapping!

Blender 2.49a, Indigo 2.2.9
Roughly 30 hours of rendering, though at 2400×2400. I used light portals but am not sure if that actually helped or not.

3D Digitizing, from real life to virtual 3D in the blink of an eye

by Admin on Jan.03, 2010, under Virtual 3D World

(Article in Progress)
3D Digitizers have been a long sought after tool by any software 3D modeler wishing to save countless hours of tedious work trying to manually reverse engineer simple everyday life objects to recreate them in a software digital 3D world. The technology is now here and is only getting better. The most promising techniques use some form of projected light rays or lasers to scan real life objects and create a 3D digital copy. 3D Modeling 101 – a beginner’s guide to 3d object and terrain modeling towards creating your own virtual world

by Admin on Jan.03, 2010, under Virtual 3D World

Well, ok so as a beginner, you’re not going to be capable of creating as beautiful a model as the one above just yet, that’s something to aspire to as your skills develop. (If you want to just do animation with already created models you can get for free, that article is coming next.) In the previous articles I gave a quick overview of the programs I recommend for those wishing to delve into virtual 3D world creation, the culmination of my articles will in the end branch out to real-time game creation systems and highly realistic 3D movies, ie rendered virtual 3D worlds versus realtime interactive 3D worlds.

3d robot render
Imagine, as a movie director being able to use any past actor with just a click of a mouse. The fact is, the technology is pretty much already here. At least for the visual part, we can scan and digitize actors into their virtual 3D counterparts and reanimate (continue reading…)

Age of the Androids

by Admin on Dec.04, 2009, under Virtual 3D World

How soon will technology be able to provide a real as seen in the movies AI Android? Many believe the answer is very soon, within the coming decade. In a still male dominated world, the initial offerings may be something like this: (continue reading…)

Creating your own Virtual 3D World P2…

by Admin on Dec.04, 2009, under Virtual 3D World

Previously, we laid out the recommended beginner’s workflow to start with iClone and expand into Poser, Daz Studio, and Carrara. Now we should clarify that all of these programs have many overlapping features but because iClone started out with almost realtime use in mind, for (continue reading…)
